Week-end in Belfast

Last week-end I went to Belfast with some Erasmus friends of Galway (4 Spanish, 2 French and 1 German).

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland, constituent nation of the United Kingdom.

To go in Belfast we took 2 buses: the first from Galway to Dublin (2H30) and the second from Dublin to Belfast (2 hours). We left the Friday in the morning and we arrived at the end of the afternoon.

We slept at the hostel in the center of Belfast. It was very nice.

The Friday evening we had diner in a very nice restaurant called Granny Annies Kitchen.

We spend all the Saturday in the Giant’s Causeway. We took a bus at 9.30 am and we came back at 5 pm. To go there, it was approximately 1 hour of bus. It was beautiful ! We were really lucky because it was sunny all the day.

The Giant’s Causeway is a volcanic formation composed by approximately 40 000 columns as you can see in the picture below.

The Saturday evening, we ate at the hostel and we went out to a nightclub called the LIMELIGHT.

The Sunday we visited Belfast. The morning we went to a market where we can buy food, jewellery, clothes, etc.

We visited the city hall with a guide in english. It was really interested. We also visited the Ulster Museum and the Botanic Garden.

We went, of course, to do some shopping because there is not a lot of place where to shop in Galway.

So, this week-end was really nice. I was very happy to spend these days with my Erasmus friends and to discover new places together.
