Aran Islands

Last week, I went to the Aran Islands. The Aran islands is a group of three islands. They are located in the County of Galway, at the mouth of the Galway Bay.

I just went to one of these three islands: Inishmore. It is the largest. The two others are Inishmaan and Inisheer, the smaller.

For go to this island, we took at 10 am the bus from Galway (Eyre Square) to the port at the end of the Galway Bay. After, we took a ferry. This trip (bus and ferry) lasted 1.30 hours approximately.

When we arrived on the island, we rent bikes for do the tour of the Island. So we peddled all the day: 12 kilometres approximately. We did a lot of stop for admired the view on the beach, for have lunch and for visit the Dun Aengus fort.

Dun Arengus is a fort constructed by the prehistoric men. It was just near a big cliff. The landscape was incredible.

We were very lucky because during all the day, the weather was perfect with a lot of sun.

We took the ferry for come back at 4.30 pm and we arrived in Galway very tired but with a lot of good memories !
