The Sagrada Familia is a basilica in Barcelona. Construction started in 1882 and still not completed. The final project is scheduled for 2026.
It is one of the best known Catalan modernism and above all an emblematic monument of the city. The unfinished work of the architect Antoni Gaudi, the Sagrada Família is located in the district of the same name (Eixample district). According to the data of the year 2004, the Sagrada Família is the most visited monument in Spain.
The construction of the Sagrada Família is financed only by alms and
donations to the exclusion of any public funds.
The majority of the donors are anonymous and the amounts unknown. Most of the funds comefrom entrances to the temple visit.
The funds and the pace of construction are managed by a private non-profit association created in 1893.
To have been there and, having already made many cathedral and church, the Sagrada Familia and by far the one that has most marked me. It is so imposing, to see these columns, thesevaults give you the head that turns.
